Better Together

We’re not big fans of world domination. At Pancake, we believe that filmmaking is inherently a communal endeavour, and one that we want to encourage and share. As part of our mission we host regular workshops and events, inviting a diverse tapestry of voices, talents, and perspectives, to unify and engage our local creative community.

From writers to directors, actors to crew members, spoken word poets to mimes, all forms of artistry and passions are welcome and celebrated. We believe in creating a local environment where new ideas can flourish and innovation thrive. By embracing these communal aspects of filmmaking, we not only enrich our stories but also build connections that extend beyond the screen, reflecting our collective human experience.

  • That's entirely up to you! We tailor our events around our community's interests. It's all about meeting like-minded individuals, cross contaminating skills and mediums, and supporting one another to tell stories. It could take the form of an industry roundtable or a karaoke party. We don't do our best work in an office.

  • None whatsoever. Sign your dog up if you like (in fact, it's encouraged). Our community is open to all skill levels across any creative medium. We believe it's this dynamic spirit that conjures up the best ideas.

    Note: Some events will be 18+ only dependant on venue requirements.

  • Pancake Originals' film productions are seperate from the social community, but we're always on the lookout for new collaborators. Although our events and workshops don't specifically involve production, the overall objective of the initiative is to inspire, encourage and support emerging filmmakers.
